AAHS is dedicated to the preservation and dissemination of the rich heritage of American aviation. Our purpose is to collect, preserve and promote the written and visual record of planes, people, places and events involved in the development and expansion of American aviation. AAHS promotes our aviation heritage through the operation and support of library and media resources for youth and adults in aviation education, scholarships, career development and outreach programs. These efforts cover aviation from pre-Wright Brothers to current events and include WWI, WWII, the Golden Age of flying, commercial aviation and general aviation. Each of the services USAF, USN, USMC, and USCG are well represented in these efforts. Along with the aircraft, documentation regarding aviation personalities from the Wright brothers, Chamberlin, Charles Lindbergh, Jack Fry, Howard Hughes, Glenn Curtiss, Glenn, Martin, Jack Northrop, and many other individuals that contributed to the development of the airlines and the aviation industry is collected and shared with our members
